We did it! Got through this busy week. We performed our day show for
the school on Thursday and it was a blast. I’m so proud of the kiddos for all
their hard work. I will be sending home their outfits next week.
For the Lunar New Year, I gave each student in both classes a red envelope with lucky money. We learned about traditions and how people celebrate the new year. I think I spent way too much time trying to find cute envelopes for the students but it's ok because they were really excited about receiving it.
It’s the year of the HORSE!
Horses are known
for being strong-willed and unbridled as well as charming and intelligent.
According to "The Handbook Of Chinese Horoscopes," the Horse is
self-centered by nature and wants things done his way. "Performance and
success oriented, he always has his
sights set on some target... With his remarkable powers of
persuasion, he will set out to sway people to his way of thinking. Snapping his
fingers and clicking his heels, this trailblazer could talk you into anything
once he begins to dish out the charm. People find it hard to resist his
positive and self-assured outlook on life."
These past weekends, I have been traveling around town with our
school’s dragon/lion dance team. Although I really enjoy it, it’s sooo
exhausting. I don’t know how the kids do it. They perform for venues back to
back and are so determined to perform whether the condition. Rain or shine,
cold or hot. Such troopers!
Here is the website if you want to learn more about them:
